    Deja vu all over again.

Go to otn.oracle.com, create your self an account (it is free), check out documentation, download a personal version of Oracle (also free), play. There are also many good books on Oracle. Do a search on this form for "books". You are not the first to ask this question. Oracle is not an easy thing to learn. Pick a subject (SQL) and learn it will. There are too many areas to try and study all of it. Over time (years) you can add the rest (if ever).

    Good luck.

PL/SQL is based entirely on SQL. If you are not strong at SQL, PL/SQL will not make much sense to you. Definitely concentrate on the SQL part, b/c PL/SQL is not entirely different from VB - if you know one programming language, you can learn another.

As the previous post said, download the software and play around. You can read all the books you want, but the software doesnt always work the way you think it will. The only way to learn how Oracle really works is by practicing and once you are done practicing, practicing some more.

I am in total support of what ss659 said. That is the way to proceed. Another thing to do is stay involved with this forum. Here you will see real world issues with code examples.
