    Unanswered: Select query with line number

    How can I create a select query that also return line number (1,2,3,...) as a column of its result ?

    Look up Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 207626

    It as a sample DB with a bunch of queries, one which does what you want. Take a look at it.

    In your table, do you have line numbers set up at something like an Autonumber field? If you simply need line numbers that only number the amount of items you receive information back on, then maybe do it in a report. In the Details section place a TextBox, remove the label for it, go to the TextBox properties DataTab, input: =1 for Control Source, then set it for: OverAll or OverGroup in the Running sum section. That will print a line number for each record you pull up. If your report is in groups it will renumber each time it hits a different group. Hope this helps you some.
