Unanswered: BLOB images in Access 2000

I know how to add BLOB images to a field in a Access 2000 database from a standalone VB application by using the ADO stream object, but is it possible to do this from within access itself too somehow?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Not permitted

If I try to do it the same way as from the standalone app, I don't have permission to write to the database "Because it is locked by another user". It's pretty obvious why that happens, but there must be a way to get around it?

    Anyone??

And why does that happen? Is the other app opening the DB exclusively? Is the locking at table or page level instead of row level? Basically the way you add a BLOB to Access thru VB is the same way thru Access itself using VBA ...
