    Unanswered: Formatted text

I have an access table whit a field propref of type text.
Reference numbers are automaticallyt added to this field when needed which are normally numbers. However sometimes text may be added.
Either way thery are always 7 characters long ie..

    1234567 or
    12345GB

the problem i have is that when entered any leading zeros are lost in the table ie

    0012345 is stored as
    12345

How can i store them as 0012345.

I have gone to the format property of the field and tried ##00000 which is what i use in excel but to no avail.

    Any help much appreciated.

A format of "0000000" will work ... Ex:

    Format(12345,"0000000") will return "0012345" ...
