I'm trying to fix a problem with a SQL Server installation on a Dell server running Windows Server 2000 (w/ sp2, sp3a).

It was originally installed on the C:\ drive. Uninstalled, but apparently the folder and files in C:\ were not removed. When I tried to install it on the D:\ drive, there is all kinds of weirdness going on because apparently a new instance of SQL 2k has been created, and the server is showing up in Enterprise Manager as "(local) (Windows NT)".

What should have been done to completely uninstall SQL 2000 from the C:\ drive?

How should I have installed SQL 2000 in the D:\ drive?

Thanks tons and bunches for your help.
