    Unanswered: SQL Anywhere 5.5.05: dbclient connection parameters

    Good Day,

    For some reason, my dbclient instance can only connect to my SQL Anywhere Database Server through NetBIOS. I need for dbclient to connect exclusively through a predefined, static IP address so that remote users can hit my server through our firewall. Does this forum have any suggestions? I am supporting IBM Rational Administrator and TestManager with this implementation.

    Best Regards,

    Thanks for your prompt response!

    This is the configuration string that is set to the environmental variable, SQLCONNECT.

    dbclient SQLANY -ta 120 -z -x TCPIP{host=static.IP.address,ServerPort=2638}

    My company's internal network environment uses NetBIOS over TCP\IP for all IP connections. However, NetBIOS is not allowed passed the firewall for remote users. This is my user scenario and problem statement.

    Best Regards,
    Keith

    Sorry, but this is the connection string of your client application.

    I repeat my question : How do you start your DB engine (server side) ?

    Good Day!

    Here is my server configuration script for SQL Anywhere v5.5.05. Should the default server port be #1498 for my release or does it really matter?

    -n SQLANY -x TCPIP{host=162.132.60.151;ServerPort=2638,UseUDP=O FF,DOBROADCAST=NO}

    Best Regards,
