    Question Unanswered: Edit a procedure in SQL Plus

    Hi everybody.
    I created a procedure. Is there any command to retrieve the code, edit it and save it, using SQL Splus, or the only way is to use the CREATE OR REPLACE command with all the code?
    Thanks,

    Manf

    Providing the current user has access to the object,

    select text from all_source where name = 'PROCEDURE_NAME';

    OR

    If the current SQL*Plus user is the owner of the procedure then
    all_source can be replaced with user_source. This is advantageous given that all_source will contain significantly more objects.

    Churchill: And Madam, you are ugly. And tomorrow, I'll be sober, and you will still be ugly.

    Here's a script you can run that will produce a script file for the procedure. Go to the end of the script and change the spool location to match your environment. Execute this from SQLPlus.... It will ask you for the owner and procedure name ....
