    Red face Unanswered: install problem

    Hi there,

    Some questions:

    1. Why the size of disk1 have a little bit difference when I download Oracle9i (Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows XP 2003/Windows Server 2003 (64-bit) from the same website http://otn.oracle.com/software/produ...win64soft.html) in two days, (477,268 KB and 477,266KB), and it supposed to be 488,719KB based on instruction.

    2. The features of my computer is
    1.60 GHz Intel Celeron
    256 MB RAM
    20 GB Hard Disk
    Windows XP Home Edition
When I tried to run setup.exe within the Disk1, it always have a problem “….setup.exp is not a valid win32 application” What the problem, my computer or Orcacle9i?

    3. Is there any other website can be used for download Oracle9i?

    Thx for any nice help.

    Victor

How do you propose to install 64-bit Oracle onto a 32-bit OS?

32 can be installed onto a 64bit system, but not the other way around.

Basically you downloaded the incorrect version.

    You want:
    Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1)
    Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP

AFAIK Oracle won't install on Windows XP Home Ed.
