    Unanswered: running shell commands from PL/SQL

    Hi,

    Is there any way to run system commands from a pl/sql procedure in Oracle?

    Thanx for the response. I basically wanted to change the file permissions of the log files created by oracle Stored Procedures. Bacially looking for some oracle packages which can do this for me?

    There are none, for any Version 9i or below.

    In version 10g you can!!!

    By using DBMS_SCHEDULER

    amazing feature... !
    Oracle can do wonders !
