    Unanswered: Create database - sp_helpdb

This is the scenario. I have sybase 12.0 on Solaris 8

I have a raw partition with 2GB size. I have five databases on this raw partition. Four of them of size 400MB and one 10MB.

I would like to extend one of the 400MB databases to 800MB. So I dropped the 10MB database and then issued the alter database syntax for this 400MB database. When I look at sp_helpdb it shows me as 390MB and 10MB for this extended space.

How can I extent the space that shows me all 400MB?

The requirement for this is to load this database to another instance on which I have the same database created as 400MB initially and extended by 400MB.

The sp_helpdb on this other database shows only two 400MB blocks.

    Please help.

    Reorg

I would like to add some more to the above query. I know that I am getting two splits for my request of 400MB because of non-contiguous memory. But how can I reorganize the free space?
    Thanks

    Re: Reorg

    Check sysusages order by lstart
    Dump your DBs
Remove each DB having a sysusages entry older than your 10Mb database
    Recreate each dropped database
    Reload the dumps

... but it's a lot of job to do only cosmetics

    Fadace,
Thanks for your response, with the current setup of this database split, can I still dump this database (400,390,10) to another instance (400,400)?
    TIA

if sysusages.segmap of the segment with 390 and 10 is the same, yes
