    Unanswered: recovery

    hi all!

    how do i recover my database from network backup, the backup has been restored to the exact place but i cannot open the database please help

    sorry about that it's on an windows 2000 box

    Yo!
    Post whether or not you are recovering using RMAN.
    If so, whether or not you are using a catalog.

    As stated earlier, we need to know WHY your database is down in order to help you. Corrupt disk? Missing controlfile? what?

    Post the oracle error number you get when you attempt to start the db.
