Unanswered: installing a new instance correctly
I’m installing a new oracle instance with Database Configuration Assistant, but I’d like to know if I installed correctly.
My O.S. is windows 2003 server with 1 Gb Ram and Oracle 9.0.1 version.
May be max 15 user connecting simultaneity
I installed Oracle with this parameters:
Tamplate Name= DataWarehouse
Dedicated Server Mode
Shared pool=33554432 bytes
Java pool=33554432 mytes
Max n. of users=20
Percentage of physical memory(511mb) for oracle=70 (my machine has 1gb ram, must I increase this value here or is not important??)
Sort area size=1048576 bytes
In the init.ora SGA_MAX_SIZE=139232672
I CHOOSE TYPICAL INSTALL
How can I know if my database is installed correctly and which parameter I’d change?

that is like saying:
How can I tell that I bought the right house?
Does the database run?
Run statspack while it is running and go from there.
If you find you have allocated too much memory in certain areas then change accordingly.- The_Duck
