Unanswered: moving around a combo box

    Dumb question....

How do i make sure that my combo box refreshes when the application starts??

at the minute if i run it and select a record and then close the application, the nexst time it opens, that record is still selected in the combo box...

I only want the first item to be selected!!

    thanks

the form is a simple access form with 1 label and 1 combo box.

The combo box is connected to a table from which it takes its values...

There is a Conditional Format set on the combo box that says if the value of column 0 is null or is = "Invalid" then colour the text in the combo box red.

I put the above entry into the form_open event and stepped through the code, when it got to the line you suggested i put it, I got a message box with the following...

    Run-time error '2448':
You can't assign a value to this object.

it wont let me assign a value to the combo box from form open

    any more ideas??
