    Unanswered: Help with BCP

    Hi All,
I am new working with Sybase and want to copy data from CVS file to sybase tables. I knew it on oracle using SQL Loader. If any one can let me know how to use BCP from begining that would be great. For example in CVS file we have 5 coulms empno, ename, sal, hirdate and deptno with say 10 records.

Please let me know from where and how to start bcp.

    I would appreciate a lot.
    Thanks

    Re: Help with BCP

BCP is sort of like Oracle's SQL Loader, with few differences.

For your example, you can try the following sample BCP command:

    bcp dbName.SchemaOwner.employeee in employee.csv -t"," -S Server -P password -U username
BCP is run from the command line (Unix or Windows).

BCP has lots of options, to get a better understanding, you should check Sybase online docs at
    http://sybooks.sybase.com/onlinebook...eric__BookView

    Click on the bcp topics.
