    Question Unanswered: file name truncation??

I recently wrote a script to dump all the databases on my server. It works in that it dumps all the databases but the dump file name gets truncated after 40 characters?

For example, master dumps to master.dmp
    but sybsystemprocs, dumps to sybsystempr
    and audit_archives, dumps to audit_archi

The full path looks something like this:
    /sybdatbkp1/SYBSERVER/backup/master.dmp
    /sybdatbkp1/SYBSERVER/backup/sybsystempr

The syntax of my scripts looks like this:

    select @FILE = "/sybdatbkp1/SYBSERVER/backup/"+@DB+".dmp"

How can I avoid this. I don't remember ever having this problem before.
Could it possibly be a OS issue? Or is ASE truncating the line?

    Thanks!

    How did you declare your variable @FILE ? Varchar(40), isn't it ?

Yes, I did declare it as varchar(40). I missed that. Thanks so much!
