    Unanswered: Disable "auto-save"

Right now I have a form with record navigaiton controls enabled that allows users to scroll through and update records.

However, I would like to configure it so that the user must click a "Save Record" button to apply the changes. Currently, if the user makes changes to a field and clicks "Next Record" or closes the form, the changes are automatically applied. I have created a "Save Changes" button, I just need to know how to disable this "auto-saving" feature when moving to the next record or closing the form.

Databases don't have the equivalent of an autosave. When dealing with the underlying tables directly (table, query, form), you either commit the record or you cancel your changes.

To accomplish what you are trying to do, you may need to create an unbound form and come up with a way to mimic the navigation in your code. This way, you can update via action recordsets that will only be triggered by an event, say, a command button for Save Record.
All code ADO/ADOX unless otherwise specified.
