    Unanswered: db2cc giving exception in db2 version 8.1 on red hat linux 8

    I'm able to run db2tsrt on the linux system. But when I tried to open the control center using db2cc command, it is throwing an exception "unexpected exception during linking:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.swing.JApplet"......

    I've installed IBMJava2-131 on the system and had given the JAVA_HOME in .bash_profile of the User and exported the same.

    Even I tried it giving the path on /etc/profile but the result is the same.

    Can anybody help me out solving this issue.....
    Thanks in Advance....

    Hi

    It sounds like you setup JAVA_HOME but forgot to setup the rest of the shell variables. This is what I have on my system:

    JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.4.2_03

    PATH="$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin"

    CLASSPATH=$JAVA_HOME/lib

    Put the above in your /etc/profile (modifying the path of course)

    and then type source /etc/profile to load the variables up.

    Then db2cc should work.
