    Unanswered: bar codes in reports

    Report is populated from a query. Need one field to be Code 39 bar code font. Problem I am having is I do not know how to place the * at beginning and end of the text. Also, not all text is the same size. I do no vba so If there is a way to get the astericks in w/o it, like in the output of the query, please let me know.

    I am not sure what you were looking for but here is what i got out of it. What you are looking for is a way for a report to print * at the start and the end of a field that is already being printed.

    if so to the design view of the report, i presume the data is in the detailed section of the report. lets assume the name of the field is [barcode].

    Draw a textbox from the toolbox in the detail seciton of the report. It should say unbound at that point.

    once you are there replace unbound by the following line

    ="*"&[barcode]&"*"

    later you can delete the label part of the textbox.

    this should take care of the problem.

    SELECT "*"+ CStr([fldName])+"*" AS fldName_39 FROM tblName;

    Should work
