SQL8017W The number of processors on this machine exceeds the defined

number of processors on this machine is "4". You should purchase additional
processor based entitlements from your IBM representative or authorized dealer

    Error Explanation

    hi,

The licencing policy with db2 is per processor based, so now what has happened is that you have the license for 1 processor where as your box has 4 processors, hence you are getting this error.

I was reading on the db2licm command and this is what i suggest from the db2 command execute the below command.

    db2licm -l

This should give you the DB2 Product password and the number of processors entitled.

Please provide us this information so that we can advise further.

    Regards

    Nitin.
