Unanswered: MSAccess Hangs when one user Shuts down PC
Hi all, Hope you may be able to help us here. We have an Access database that runs on our file server and is shared by about 3 users.
They can open and close the database fine throughout the day however when one of the users shuts down his PC at night the other user loses his database connection and has to reboot his PC to be able to open the database again. Simply trying to re-open without a restart does not work
Its always the same user when he shuts down causes the other to be kicked off as well. It Only happens when his PC is shutdown (After closing access) and doesnt happen if Access is shut down and the PC keeps running.
We are running XP Pro on both machines, and the problem only seems to have appeared since we upgraded the Database from Office 97.
Also the Database is in Access 2000 format (Not 2002) Not sure if this may be an issue either
Any ideas or where to look first greatly appreciated
the aim is store once, not store multiple times
