Unanswered: VB6 combined with Access 2000

    Hi Everyone:
This is my first post and is a very important one. I am a college student working on a project with VB6. This program needs to save the data in Access 2000 and I dont know how to do it. Pls if someone can help with this it will be greatly appreciated. Just for your information this program will receive data in more than 50 text boxes and just do one mathematical operation.

    1 build the access Database

2 add 'Microsoft ADO data control 6.0 Component' to the vb project

3 put new icon on to screen

    press F4 (properties)

    click custom

fullout that screen (point to database bla bla)

pint a text box on the form

and in the properties of that

point the DataSource to the adodc1 (defualt step 3)

    then

click the dataFeild and point that to the right feildname

    that should get you started
    hope this help

    See clear as mud

Re: VB6 combined with Access 2000

Even though Myle's answer will work it will require a lot of extra work, from updating to add new records etc..

An much easier way is to use the SCIROCCO ADO Data Control Tool

    http://www.geocities.com/scirocco_ha/DataControl.htm

All you do is drop the control on your form, bind the text boxes and that is it. Now you can Navigate, Add New, Delete, Refresh, Search and Save Changes to your recordsets without any other code. That is really it, no other code is needed.

This works in any environment VB, Access, VC++ etc...

Let me know what you think.
