Unanswered: MIgration from DB2 to MSSQL Server 2000

    Hi Friends,

I am doing my final semester project. It is a migration tool that converts the DB2 PL dialect into MSSQL Server's T-SQL dialect.
I am in need of sample DB2 PL files(procedures, UDFs, triggers) for testing the tool. Please point out me to some DB2 files repository links or if you have some files, please give me the same. I will use this only for testing purposes.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Jake

In db2 v8.1.x, you can create a "sample" database using "db2sampl.exe" from default %DB2PATH% folder. Now this database contains necessary objects, which can be used to convert into MS SQL 2000 equivalent.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Suresh,

Thanks for the suggestion. I find a list of sql procedures under the <DB2Home>/sqllib/samples/sqlproc directory. Also I get some procedures from the sample database.

Suresh & Friends: Does these procedures cover the complete DB2 PL dialect ?

    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Jake

I think either of them is a good start. Obviously, the list of procedures are not comprehensive enough but it definitely gives you a sample db2 PL dialect to convert into MS SQL Server 2000 equivalent. This should give you "feel good" factor before you embark on a full fledged conversion of complex db2 store procedures into T-SQL equivalent.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards.
