Unanswered: saving a "snapshot" of db in a dataset

I'm developing a really simple application - the db will initially only contain 1-2K records.
I have a lot of users that only require read only access. In cases like this, is it a good idea to use ADO, select all records into a record set and then disconnect from the db and strictly use the dataset?
The front end is going to be ASP (not that it matters) but the business logic will be developed with VB. I will have a new db object for each session.

    Please advise!

I'd say yes and I like using GetRows on my ASP pages that show multiple records.

GetRows is fast and GetString is faster but doesn't allow formatting of a field.
