Unhappy Unanswered: Oracle 9i Install Error

I have downloaded the Oracle 9i disks and tried to install them from the D drive due to memory constraints on C drive. I receive the following error: "Inventory location is invalid". Is this because I am installing from a drive other than C? If so does anyone know if there is a way to install from another drive (like D)? Does anyone know the reason I am receiving the error message?

    Usefull information as follows:

    OS - Windows 2000
    Oracle Version - Oracle 9.1.0.1i for NT/2000
    Processor - Pentium III

did you have oracle installed on this machine?
If yes, check the windows registry and remove the entries
