    Unanswered: Length of detail section

    My question is similar to all those postings re vertical lines in detail section. I have that, & it is neatly handled by the previous replies. My problem is that the detail section remains a constant size (which suits me) but I don't know why that is so. the detail section is narrow, with 'can grow' set to 'yes', but regardless of the no. of details printed, incl the last page, the footer section is always at same place near bottom of page, & all my attempts to get the vert lines to fill in the gap between last detail & start of footer have left me disappointed.

    Any suggestions of where to look ?

    Thanks

    You can try this page:
    http://www.mvps.org/access/reports/index.html
    to look for answers, but if your footer is a page footer and not a group footer, then I doubt there is a way to draw lines in the blank area.

    I seem to remember something about using a template or picture as a background to get vertical lines, but I don't remember the details since I did not need it at the time. Another solution is to print onto a pre-printed form.

    Thanks for that. silly me, of course it was a page footer & not a group footer. I did look further & found answer in http://www.lebans.com/PrintLines.htm (thankyou Stephen).
    fyi here it is:

    Private Sub Report_Page()
    With Me
    Me.Line ((0), .Section(acPageHeader).Height) _
    -(0, .ScaleHeight - _
    (.Section(acPageFooter).Height))
    End With
