    Unanswered: single quote character

I am exporting queries from an Access 2000 database as an Excel file. When I open the Excel file all of the text fields have a single quote character (`) leading.

Does anyone know of way to eliminate this?

Is there an option in Excel that can be disabled, or is there some code in either Excel or Access that I can try?

Did you use the built in statement of Acce$$ DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputTable, "yourTableName", acFormatXLS, "C:\Temp\yourOutputFile.xls"

it easy to return in excel
    just use a RIGHT statment
    =RIGHT("Cell with ' ", Len ("Cell with ' ") - 1)
copy down the row and it will remove the dashes
