Unanswered: Allow insert in table only with Function

    Hello

    Situtiaion:
    - table "tab" without INSERT right for user "smith"

    - function func with GRANT EXECUTE TO SMITH
in this function, values are inserted to tab

    Errormessage:
    psql:b.sql:3: ERROR: tab permission denied

What I want to do is only allow insert to the table "tab"
for user smith within the function func.

    Any Ideas? Thanks
    Walter

    Hi again

Is my question unclear or isn't there any possibilty to
    implement this in postgres ?

I have no experience with that and I think that I won't have until postgre provide a way to verify the state of a transaction inside functions, but your question it's clear enough to me
