    Unanswered: shared memory realm doesnt exist

    Also says: ORA-27101:
    ORA-01034 : ORACLE not available.

    Please help me fix above errors.

    Make sure you have shared memory configured on your system.

    See the System Requirements/pre-installation tasks section of your installation guide.

    Sounds like the database is not up and running ...
    What OS ???
    Have you started the database ???

    it would help if you tell us what operating system and version of the database.

    sound's like you have not set your profile!! or the database is down.

    if on unix try the following.

    set oracle_sid=prod

    sqlplus
    / as sysdba


    then start up instance if connected to idle instance.

    i am using oracle 9..2.0.1.0
    on windows nt
    so how would i configur emy rpofle
