    I have a table xxx which have a column yyy which is of
    date type
    table xxx
    ---------------------
    yyy date
    presently the yyy is storing the sysdate(Feb 18, 2004). What i want to do is to update the yyy column so that it contains the previous day's(Feb 17, 2004) date.Please let me know whether there is any function like NEXT_DAY or something else to do the task .Thanks in advance for your time and help......Uma

    Update XXX
    Set YYY = YYY - 1;

    or if you want to use sysdate

    Update XXX
    Set YYY = sysdate - 1;

    You can perform arithmetics on Oracle dates.
