Unanswered: CPU usage - DB2 Open Cursor

We have made some enhancements to an IMS-DB/DC system by adding new DB2 databases.

Currently one of the important query in a transaction took 9 ms of CPU time for a open cursor execution(Join Query).
Frequency of execution - approx 1 per transaction.

Can you please provide me with the benchmark values for such a DB operation

    Thanks in Advance

Depends on many different factors. There is no standard benchmark.

To receive an explanation of why it takes so long, and possible things you can do to improve the performance, please post the following:

    1. SQL open cursor statement,
    2. DDL for the tables and all indexes on the tables referenced in the cursor, and
    3. The number of rows in each table.
