    Unanswered: bcp version problem

    Hi All,

I did a bcp out on version 11.1.1 and then a bcp in on version 12.5.1
and missed about 30,000 rows - does anyone know anything about this or how to resolve?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Rgs,
    Breen.

I assume the tables in both the old and the new database are identical? The same datatypes en columnlengths?
And did you check for errors during bcp out, or during bcp in?

    Hi,
Yes the tables are the same structure.
Two bcp's worked - the third didn't, it got an unexpected EOF eccountered in bcp-file.
I have redone 3 times and continually get the error.
Is there anything obvious that I may be missing?
    Rgs,
    Breen.

If you use exactly the same bcp-commando's, same fieldseparators and end-of-line-characters, it should work.

The only thing I can think of that would cause this would be that some datatypes are not convertible (char to int and stuff).

Maybe someone else around here can help you (and me, I'm getting curious) with this.
