    Unanswered: 2 instances of a subform on the main form?

    Hi guys,

    dumb question, but can I use the same subform twice on a main form?

    I would like to use this subform to enter data for 2 different, exclusive states.

    State1 --> Treatments

    OR

    State2 --> Treatments

    where the fields for "treatments" are the same in both cases.
    I was going to create subforms for each state on the main form and use the same "treatments" subform within these subforms.

    Perhaps a diagram would help...

    Main Subform Subform
    ------------------------------------------
    Main
    I_______ State1
    I I__________ Treatments
    I
    I
    I_______ State2
    I__________ Treatments

    The relevant "State" subform would be made visible and enabled by a choice in an optiongroup.

    Would this work?
    Is there a better way to do it?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

    Should work, although you need to keep an eye on record locking (make sure your not trying to update the same record at the same time.

    As for a better way...do you have visual basic 6? If so, create the forms you need as VB active X controls and then use them within MS Access.

    Brian.
