    Talking Unanswered: Perf Monitor

Is there anyway that you can automate performance monitor from the cmd line. I.e feed it some parameters like server and counters and receive a log file at the end.

    Cheers

Look up "command line" in the Performance Monitor help file. Look at the LOGMAN entry.

Also, using Performance Logs and Alerts, you can set up a log file to start and stop at pre-designated points in time.

Oooops. Sorry. I am running W2K. I frankly don't know that much about NT4.0.

    Cool

Thats ok mate. My work is still in the dark ages!!!

We still run a few SQL 6.5 boxes in production.

Have to come every morning and turn a handle on the back of the server to get the thing to work.

    Cheers Anyway.

Ouch! I was feeling bad because I haven't gotten to work on anything really new in about 2 years; now I feel postively lucky.

Hope you find what you are looking for...
