Unanswered: Calling DLL method from a stored proc (Sybase ASA 9.0)
Product: Sybase ASA 9.0
1. I would like to invoke a DLL method through a stored procedure. The ASA SQL Users Guide (section: "Calling external libraries from procedures") implies this can be done, but doesn't give much instruction on how to do it.
I've tried there syntax for invoking a method on a DLL, but when I execute the stored proc, I get an error indicating the method could not be found in my DLL.
Is there any sample stored proc code or further docs describing how to do this?
Does the DLL have to be written in a specific language? (C++?)
2. Can .NET assemblies be invoked in a similar way? (or does Sybase ASA 9.0 not support this yet?)
