Question Unanswered: Importing into Oracle, from another RDB

    Hello,

We can copy some data from one Oracle instance to another by first exporting it to a (.dmp) file and then importing it.

Can I do such a thing across two RDBs? To be specific, if I want to move some data from a TimesTen database to Oracle, can it be done...?

(I have heard about database link and I guess it might be used...(?)..)

    Help will be immensely appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Yogesh.

Within Oracle it is possible with its features exp/imp. You can't do the same in different RDBs. Nowadays some adapters are available which can help to convert data from one to another.

A way to achieve exchange data between another rdb and oracle is to export another rdb into a flat file and use sqlloader to import in Oracle DB
