    Unanswered: How do you strip off stars

    I don't know how the stars are attribuated
    but I don't think I should have so many
    It gives a false impression to new members

    Its strictly the number of posts. You can ask 5000 questions and get guru status.
    If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

    I would hardly say you have posted quite so many stupid ones.....OK, maybe taunting Brett wasn't such a great idea...

    I remember this topic coming up before. Someone was wondering about rating individuals for their performance. But this may have its own little problems. Would your "score" come with you from forum to forum? Or in other words, if an Oracle guru with a great rating comes and posts on a question in the SQL Server forum, would he be viewed as a SQL Server guru as well?

    Probably best to leave well enough alone. Besides, you can change your title easily enough. Maybe you can be a Jr. Guru?
