Missed one the most important Aspect.
The databases run on AIX platform on System1 and Linux on System2.
Table A is in Systems1 and Table AA in System2.

    HI ALL

    Have table A in DataBase1 on Systems1
and table AA in Database 2 on System2

Table A and Table AA have same structure.

How can I transport data from Table A to Table AA without creating a datafile and importing to the the table.

What are the various options that I can utilizes to transfer data ?

Please comment regarding the above ASAP.

    Thank You

You have two options. Which one to use depends on you specific needs. They are Replication and Federation. With Replication, DB2 copies the data. There are various scenarios on how this works. YOu will need to consult the Replication manual and there is a Redbook also that helps. Federation will allow you to make it appear as if the table AA resides on System1, in the same database as table A. You can then perform a simple INSERT INTO AA SELECT * FROM A.

    hi,

i had migrated some databases from AIX (db2 7.2.5) to linux (8.1.4)

    u have many ways :

    1. export on source system and import on target system (use IXF format and use binary ftp )

    2. catalog yr target database on yr source system and wite embeded SQL in C program to do the following :
    2.1 connect to src DB
2.2 get the data in curosr and then store it in C array of structures
    2.3 disconnect from src
    2.4 connect to target DB
2.5 insert it to the target table from stored C sturctures
    2.6 commit each 1000-5000 row

    3. use DB replication if possible

    4. try to make tablespace backup/restore

    5. if yr DB is small, try DB backup/restore
