    Unanswered: Oracle 10G connection problem

    I launch my db with the following script:
    su - oracle -c "export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1 && /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/bin/dbstart"
    su - oracle -c "export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1 && /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/bin/lsnrctl start"

    Here is the output:

    connecting from client or host?
    have you set your oracle_home?
    please post your TNSNAMES.ORA contents.

    echo $ORACLE_HOME

    can you connect when doing:

    sqlplus scott/tiger (specifying no sid)
    - The_Duck
    you can lead someone to something but they will never learn anything ...

    My tnsnames:
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    ORCL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = xavan_fixe)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    )
    )

    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
    )
    )

    The problem occurs with sqlplus and with toad from another machine.

    oracle@xavan_fixe oracle $ tnsping orcl

    Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
