Exclamation Unanswered: SQL Anywhere 7 run as service

    Please help me out.

I need to be able to run SQL Anywhere version 7 as a service on Windows 2003.

    What advice can you offer?

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,
    Bryan

    sybase central

Using sybase central, under the services folder, you can add a new service of asa 7.0 into win2k services.

Question SQL Anywhere 7 run as service

Unfortunately I don't have the Version 7 studio yet and the version 9 studio won't interact with the version 7 engine.

I can create a service with the NT program sc.exe, but there must be some special command line setting for dbsrv7 that I am missing. The service never starts succesfully.

    I have tried:

    sc create dbService "dbsrv7 -n MyDB c:\db\My.db"

I have read a few pages describing a command line program dbsvc.exe that should come with the Version 7 Studio which I have ordered but could not download, so I'm waiting for snail mail.

I'm trying to prove out some software that the company wants to to switch to on Friday. This time crunch is ridiculous.

If you have any tips I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks for your help!
