Unanswered: Access and mySql table linking

    Hi All,
I have an Access DB which I presume, using ODBC, can link my tables to a mySql DB at the backend. No probs so far (In thoery only. I have not actually done or tried so practically). My question is, lets say, I make a copy of the Access frontend DB, then will I again have to link the mySql tables to the copy of the original Access DB or copying the Access DB will also automatically copy the links and maintain the connection with mysql tables.

Thank u all in advance for ur time and efforts.

    Cheers:
    Prathmesh

if your ODBC connection is a system dsn you can move the front-end anywhere on your computer. If you move to another machine, you will have to set up the system dsn on that machine as well. If you do this first and you name everything identically between the two machines you will still probably be good to go, since the connect string should point to the system dsn where it is running...
