Question Unanswered: Cannot read system catalog (sysprocplan)

    Hi,

We have an Informix db, IDS version 7.31.UD7.
I always get the following error message:

    Cannot read system catalog(sysprocplan)
    ISAM error: key value locked.

We run update statistics every day. It seems that every time when a stored procedure is executed, the sysprocplan table is being locked; but I can't figure out why.
There are about 70 stored procedures in our db.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thx

First of all, what level on the update statistics, if you're only doing low the optimizer will attempt to check plan for the SP.

Second, immediately after doing the table, update statistics on the stored procedures. The optimizer will see it's got a current plan and forgo the reoptimization.

    Third, get off from 7.31
