    Unanswered: updated timestamp

    hi,
I have a directory called meditrac in which i have 3 sub directories A,B and C
directory A has A.sh shell script file,
directory B has B.sh shell script file,
directory C has C.sh shell script file

I made modifications to all the 3 .sh files in folders A,B and C and all 3 sh files in their folders have the latest timestamp of March 02 13:30

however when i cd .. back to the meditrac folder and list the folders
    it is showing

directory A has a modified timestamp if March 02 13:30
whereas directory B and directory C has an old timestamp of Feb 06 15:20

how is this possible ?All the 3 folders A,B and C should have had the latest today's timestamp, right ?? Any ideas/suggestions on this issue is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Praveen,
I am looking at the modified time. That's what is not changed for directories B and C. But for directory A it changed

    Thanks

    Hi saccskiz,
if you make modifications to existing files, the timestamp from the folder will not be updated .

Only, if you move a file to a new name or you create a new file in this folder then the timestamp will be updated.

    Please check it again.
