Unanswered: URGENT!!! only allowing data from a combo box to be entered into a cell

I a have expense report spreadsheet, there are combo boxes for each line item so you can allocate expenses to a deal.

I did not create this sheet. but i do know the range that fills the combo box is called deals.

You should not be able to type any info into the cbo that is not from the deal range : you must select a value from the cbo, not enter anything else.

But now i see that i can type anything in the cbo, and it allows it. How can i change that?

As much help as possible please, i havent worked with controls in xl b4.

You're not the only one to forget that.

I make it a conscious effort now that whenever I have code that turns off the DisplayAlerts, I include one line at the bottom to enable it again.

    but at least I'm inconsistent!
