Unanswered: Capturing the ascii file date

I have an automated VBA Access 2000 procedure that takes information from an ascii text file, tdhqdata.txt, daily into a table. All rows in the ascii file goes into the table unless they already exists. All well so far.

The file is a merge from several other systems and not all systems contribute to the file daily. My problem is the days the tdhqdata.txt file is not updated at all. If the date of the file is the same as a previously uploaded file I need to know and produce an error. The data inside the file is not an indicator of the date the file was produced.

I would like to store the ascii file DATE in a table and I don't know how to capture it.

Here is the standard import test code I use:

DoCmd.TransferText acImportFixed, "Tdhqdata Import Specification", "tblTdhqdataImport", "\\Cpnta\Sales\asciis\tdhqdata.txt", False, ""

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Bjorn
