    Smile Unanswered: Disable close button on report

    Hi All,

    Is there a way to disable the close button on a report when it is open in preview mode?

    Thanks for your help.

    the property settings for a report function in much the same way as a form even in 2000. Are you referring to the close button on the border of the report or the button named "Close" on the toolbar of the access application?

    I am referring to the close button on the report. I am creating a dynamic report. When I click on the close button, it prompts with do I want to save the changes to design report. I do not want to save, because the report will change base on the selection from a listbox. How can I disable the close button on the report, and not save?

    Thank you for your response.

    Thanks everyone for your help. I found a workaround for my problem. I created two identical reports, and used a copyobject function.

    Private Function CopyReport()

    On Error GoTo err_copyReport

    DoCmd.DeleteObject acReport, "rptTest"
    DoCmd.CopyObject "c:\database.mdb", "rptTest", acReport, "rptTestSource"

    exit_copyReport:
    Exit Function

    err_copyReport:
    MsgBox Err.description
    Resume exit_copyReport

    End Function

    This may seem crude, but it works. I execute this function just before the user selects from the listbox. I'm open to a better approach to do this.

    Thank you for your time and effort.
