I have a web server running Oracle Client 8.1.7.4. I created an ASP web page that runs a stored procedure and outputs the "out" variables. The stored procedure is in a database on an Oracle 9.2.0.4 server. The stored procedure is simple in that all it does is a lookup and some concatenation of string parameters.

In my web page output, I get the expected results with garbled data appended to the end of each result. For example, for a variable named roles, I expect a value of "1" and I get back "1M ".

We've looked at variable initialization in the stored procedure, NLS_LANG, MDAC.

Oh, another piece of information is that Oracle 9.2 on the same server (8.1 uninstalled) works fine. My understanding was the 8.1.7 could connect and interact with 9.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
