Unanswered: Can't open database on different PC (network)

    Hello,

I've created a database on my PC at the office (part of a LAN, WinNT).

Now, I want to open it on my personal XP PC at home. Suddenly, it asks for a userID and password (it didn't do that at my office PC). The file was stored on our office LAN, but all other user could open it, never set any restrictions.

I think the problem is that I don't belong the the right domain at home... Does anbody know how to solve this?

    Thx

    Workgroup

I'm assuming that you've made a local copy of the database and brought it home.

If this is the case then it sounds like your database was created with a workgroup and you do not have the *.mdw file on your home PC.

Check your copy of access at work and see if you are subscribed to any workgroups other than "System.mdw" in your personal folders, if so find that *.mdw and make a copy of it to take with you as well.

That's the login screen I've got. I'll try to find the mdw file at work. Thanks!
