    Question Unanswered: Replicate, Bulk, Dump

    Hi Y'all,
we are running a rather large ASE environment with various server installations (12.5, HP-UX/Linux).

A reasonable amount of data rows (4 Mio +) has to be transferred regularly from one server to another. At the moment, we use proxy tables, which is (sometimes) awefully slow. We are not using replication as mass-updates on the source will heavily influence workload on the target server.

Two possible solutions for performance tuning came to my mind:
    a) BCP the data (if possible in chunks, using views)
    b) Dump the source data, re-create DB on target.

Any other suggestions out there? Any comments on usability/sanity?

    Thanks in advance
    Zinger

Depending the frequency of your refreshes and the number of tables to refresh.
