Unanswered: Problems when selecting from Oracle via ODBC in Access
Scenario: Access frontend selects from Oracle backend via ODBC
I have a "fun" problem.... When I select from a field that contains a float, I get funny numbers.
Even when I look at numbers in simple select query they are wrong!
For example 345,2365 will come out as 3452365.
If I look in SQL Plus it comes out as 345,2365
It is defined in oracle as NUMBER(15,5).
Is there something wrong with my ODBC link?
Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 188.8.131.52.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Oracle Data Mining options
JServer Release 184.108.40.206.0 - Production
ODBC: Oracle Corporation 8.01.07.810
There are three choices on "Numeric Settings":
Use Oracle NLS Settings
Use Microsoft regional settings
Use US Settings
I've tried all three and restarted my comp between the tries.
The reason behind this "nice" behaviour was bad ODBC-links....
I relinked all tables today and the problem was gone, did NOT work yesterday.
I mailed my dba on the Oracle database but haven't got an answer yet, but I doubt that there was a problem there.
