    Question Unanswered: Toad Question.

    I have a procedure in a package. I wanted to return all the rows from a particular table. And i guess this can be acheived with a output cursor.
    When I execute this proc in toad, how can I view the resultset returned by the proc in the cursor.
    I am transitioning from Sql Server to Oracle, does anyone know a good online site for help on pl/sql like we have msdn for t-sql

    Thanks

    there is a DBMS Output tab that you can click to view any output
    from your procedure.

    You have to make a call to DBMS_OUTPUT package to have this work.

    Try this:

    DECLARE
    v_msg varchar2(20);

    BEGIN
    v_msg:= 'TEST OUTPUT';
    dbms_output.put_line(v_msg);

    END;

    I believe somewhere in the menu you have to enable output as well. Put in DBMS or output into the TOAD help. Forget off the top of my head, but I believe you have to turn it on for it to output.
